Re: You Won A Town. Night falls. Do as you wish.
Looking at her, Adam sighes and sit down by her. He lays the shovel down so it's within easy reach and then... Well, he starts to talk.
"Now miss, I ain't gonna pry into why it is you're crying. That ain't right and proper of me and I was raised to be right and proper as best I could." Adam is staring up at the sky, noting the stars and moon in particular.
"But I am a gravedigger and gravekeeper by trade. I've seen many as has cried themselves until they crossed whatever waters was troubling them. I've also buried many, far too many, of those as couldn't let go of the past and let it tear them apart." He drones on, the words drifting in the air, solemn and calm.
"Miss, whatever is in your past that hurts you so, I beg you to please let go of it. If not all of it then at least some. Because in all honesty ya seem like a decent enough a sort and I don't want the things that plague you to drag you down so far that I end up having another grave to bring roses to every year. So whatever grieves you, just keep this in mind. The past is gone. The dead are dead and buried. That which is done is done. The only thing you can do..." The gravekeeper states simply, calmly, his voice the very hum of the wind in a cemetery on a clouded day, as he stands and holds his hand out to her. "Is keep moving forward and living. Because you owe nothing to them as is gone. They're gone. Ain't your fault and ain't nothing you can do to change it. So let go miss. Please."
