The rules change was that we can now translate books as part of a regular read action, iirc. Before they were their own thing. Translated books were always ineligible for Baldomare refresh though, as far as I can remember.

Yes back then translating a book did not automatically read it like now, meaning another action has to be spent on it, but did burn it for Baldamare.

Our SH Sacrament is having us going to different Histories, trading place with those Velvets.

Does that mean the power it unlocks might be just that? To safely being able to trade our place with other Velvets at will?

It would have potential. For example, it could allow us to get THEIR sacraments for other lores, or maybe to just trade with one of them to deal with an obstacle when necessary, replacing their rolls for ours.

Yeah. Like, we got Lore scraps already, I wouldn't be surprised by that. And since it's supposed to be a progression on our Realization, I expect it to open up new options for searches, like special books or artifacts that might have otherwise not been available. Maybe even different Expedition locations. But Sacraments are a much harder thing to do remotely, unless the progression goes towards merging completely with our alternates rather than just… borrowing their body for a bit.

The issue with that is if we don't do it in one turn with Baldomare's influence then we have to have her do the influence again. Also doing it over two turns lets us see how much the DC goes up. If we go that route I 'd rather just take the chance.
I also understand that people don't want to risk Jade failing the check, but she has really good odds. At some point we do need to take some risks, it just kind of depends on where we want to do it.

seeing by how much the DC goes up doesn't really matter much if we can't raise the roll anyway, and the we don't have other ways beside the influence.

It MIGHT be better to delay even with Baldomare's influence if we run out of rerolls and the difficulty is high enough though

is winning by around 7 votes. I'm fine with it. I was curious to try the foreign threat (and hoping for a crystal empire expedition to have a chance at the Crystal Heart), but it PROBABLY is not a big deal.

I could easily change my mind on one or more of those actions. I personally see no point in Outsider search because I think we can have our followers do it for us next turn, with something like Baldomare + Fluttershy having a 40% chance or so of finishing it on their own, and even higher odds if we add Luna too.

I also think the Sacrament is better done while we are under a tier 4 influence from Baldomare, so I'm also against that.
 
Taking a shot at the Red Church seems really dangerous without Influences, but I suppose if we got Biedde and popped an Edge Influence or something we could maybe do it. That way we can murder any Raw Peophets that jump at us.

I will admit, though, it probably has some major payoffs if we do succeed. I might prefer to look around the Stairs or the Ash though.

Fascinating.

My tally only counted one vote for this post. And I have no idea why. I'm trying to figure out if for some reason my setting only allows one vote per post or something.
And mine says there were 36 voters, while yours says there are 32.

Still, these are just technical difficulties.

For what matters, Greymere's post is the tally we will adopt for now. I'll continue trying to understand this for the time being.

an influence doesn't make THAT much of a difference, considering we have no idea WHICH influence we'd need.

Not all expeditions include combat. and we have rerolls for everyone except heart at this point (well, Forge we get this turn)

I've seen a couple quests (mostly from ShaperV) use a "like voting" system, where you vote by "liking" the post with the plan you like.

I mean, going by the first one, I would assume Winter. Edge/Moth to avoid or fight actual entities. The deeper parts of the church aren't likely to be much different.
 
...Wow I had my timing for the voting off. Welp, that's on me. Must've been the History where the voting count started 2-3 hours later that I was running off of.
And looking at the votes... no real complaints with any of the plans. So I guess accidentally missing it wasn't too bad.
 
I'd say Winter if it's a trip into the Cathedral, self-possession is very important when encountering intensities of Grail. On the other hand, success might hinge on mastery of the Lore of a given expedition, where a high Grail roll might be the difference between comprehension and distraction.

Personally I'd rather quest for the Malleary, I've always loved Forge best of the Lores, and we can (or could) find [A Blaze of Radiance] there as well back in the day. the tenth-level Lantern influence could certainly help our planned efforts if we stumbled across it.
