Honestly one of the bigger problems I have with the Pactio, is that its a ritual, where we have already committed to making an artefact for this, not only that we have nowhere to start for it, as it has no similarity to the Evil Piece system, unlike making the Tarot cards or such, ymmv of course, it probably doesn't help that I also dislike the very idea of the whole customised artefacts thing pactios give when including it in a DxD or Exalted cross, not only because the ridiculous amount of power you would need to create an artefact whole cloth like that, but because its way to much like Sacred Gears for my taste

There are several ways to handle this. The first one I already covered is to replace the artifacts with custom charm trees based on the bonded individual's own talents. This might start with an Excellency related to an ability they use frequently, like Occult for Asia or Mittelt, and then expand into unique abilities that they create themselves. Asia's healing arrows and AoE heals that ignore wounded enemies caught in their area of effect might be examples of these.

The "problem" of the pactio being a ritual rather than an artifact actually makes things much simpler because we can focus our attention on Occult and Lore rather than investing more time and resources into crafting. Exalted Sorcery might suck balls for combat but it does pretty much anything else you could possibly ask for besides raise the dead and one or two other things, so with Terrestrial or Celestial Circle Sorcery we could just create the spell from whole cloth. If you really wanted to use crafting for some reason you could make blank cards as someone else mentioned and then have the ritual write the bonded character's traits into them.

Alternatively if you wanted to keep the artifacts you could just have the artifact summon a sacred gear rather than trying to create a new object -- you'd have to make sure it wasn't currently being used by someone of course, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

Ha I remember that. It's hilarious how the questers now have ishida fighting against the same friends he switched sides to protect. On Issei not having enough power remember a few earlier quotes

How did Issei's solar exaltation get here in the first place. I now have the headcanon that the Outsiders fighting to return to reality left a hole for our Solar exaltation to get too. They knew that since we're imposing our own will, creation's reality really, on the world around that every time we use it we make reality a little more malleable...a lot more flexible. That's why everything has been going so swimmingly for Issei(i.e. easy mode), the Outsiders are not about to let their path back into reality die... Little do they know that bending to our reality to our whim goes both ways & just as the Celestial Exalted killed the Primordials(those they didn't imprison) so can we impose death on the Outsiders. A Solar exalt can pass judgment on all things, even concepts, killing them with sufficient effort. In Creation the world diminished for every Primordial who died. Thankfully here in DxD those Outsiders are outside the cycle of reality that propogates itself. Their destruction won't harm reality nearly so much. So if they come here they should be aware that WE ARE THE LAWGIVER & NONE SHALL TRESPASS AGAINST US.

After Issei left Mittelt leans against the door way and crosses her arms. "Nice seduction attempt. A 4 out of 5 for the presentation, but only 2 for the time: you should have woken him up before the alarm clock's ring."

Then she steps out of the room, leaving a confused Rias behind.

She leads him into and empty classroom and closes the door so they could talk in privacy.

"Aika-chan, what's going on-"

"You had sex with that Mittelt girl, didn't you?" She asks, cutting him off and staring at him intensely. Issei's eyes widen in shock and for a few seconds he finds himself unable to speak.

Finally he lets out a sigh. "...It was that obvious, huh?" He replies, a defeated expression on his face.

If that's okay with you."

Issei suddenly pales in horror at that concept, imagining the part-Oni going on a furious, jealously-fuelled rampage upon finding out. Having that kind of wrath directed at himself would be bad enough, but it would be even worse if she decided to assault Aika for it.

But he had already promised to share his body with her, and he isn't willing to break Aika's heart by calling it off. At the same time, he couldn't be dishonest with Mittelt either, not in good conscience. This problem would need to be handled carefully...Where those the perils of being a harem master? If so he couldn't fail: to reach his dream, everything must be perfect.

He suddenly remembers that Mittelt and Asia were still in the cafeteria, almost certainly wondering where he had gone. He quickly makes his way back, quickly finding the two girls again.

"There you are! I was wondering where you had gone off to! You shouldn't just go running off like that without letting us know first!" Mittelt huffs as they make their way to the table where Issei had put his lunch and backpack.

Issei laughs nervously. "Sorry about that, something urgent came up. Actually, there's something I need to talk to you about later..." He begins, silently preparing all the Presence Charms at his disposal to handle the future hard matter.

Rias should really be checking her pieces... Unless she happen to have a mutation piece (can't remember if she has one unused at this point), getting Issei is not happening at all.

one of her pawns is a Mutation piece which is the only reason she could make Issei her pawn in the first place in the mainline, thats the only one she has, and from what I understand she has to try before she knows if she needs more then one piece, from memory she was surprised when it took so many for Issei, which implies she can't just look at someone and know how many points they would need or whatever.

on a side note, I wonder if all this sex is going to count as training for the Performance skill? considering I know at least one character who has a speciality in Performance and Resistance to do with sex /laugh

it probably just fails, which is amusing from the point of view of the main line, if Issei had been a little stronger the her attempt to raise him from the dead would have feel through. Which if the fannon thought of her waiting to step in until he was killed was true would suck for her, note I don't believe that line of thought myself, she's many things, but that cold blooded I don't believe is one of them, ymmv of course

Rias does not have a Pawn Mutation Piece, that would be her cousin, Sairaorg. Rias had a Mutation Piece(a Bishop), but that was used on Gasper, a daywalking dhampir who was banished because he shared the shit out of the other Vampires.

Yeah... I think 4 pawns became mutation pieces later, only so Issei could enter her peerage again after his return.

I stand corrected, I knew she had one mutation piece when she got her Evil Piece set, and I knew Issei ended up with half his pawns as Mutation pieces, I had just thought one of them started out that way, as I'd forgotten about the shut in dhampir

Long story short, using Juggernaut Drive had a negative effect on Issei's Evil Pieces. As this would eventually cause them to malfunction, which would be bad, Ajuka repaired and altered them. As a result, four of them became Mutation Pieces.

On a side not, lucky for Issei this conversation should let him use his 'Defying the Established Social Order (Presence): OOO' speciality because more dice are always welcome when the outcome is important like this, it always sucks to fail a roll that's important to your Motivation... hmmmm he should be able to channel Compassion as well, and since it is part of his motivation doesn't that let him get auto-successes rather then dice for stunts, yeah, but anyway, good luck Issei our hopes and dreams go with you /laugh

Truly. Oh, her brother and parents would probably be cool with that if it makes her happy. Only, I am pretty sure that the other members of the Gremory clans are those responsible for pushing her to marry Raiser. It wasn't never shown, but it's the only rational explanation: canon Issei should at least have assassins coming for him. But of course it's all resolve off-screen ???

A quick question: if after I apply soak I roll the dices, and there isn't even a single success, does this mean that there is no damage? No Health Level applied?
